We cannot walk The Trauma Healing Journey without getting an understanding of Post Traumatic Stress, which is often communicated by its abbreviation, PTSD. PTSD is a condition that affects people who have been exposed to a traumatic event or series of events, where a collection of symptoms remain long after the event.

The understanding of PTSD is very helpful for us to become so much more aware of how shocking and painful experiences of our past can leave a lasting imprint on our minds, bodies, and spirit.

When you experience a trauma, your stress response kicks in for help and protection. Your body is meant to come back to peace after the incident is over. But with PTSD, the mind and body does not come back to peace. And there are numerous symptoms that can remain, long after the experience occurred.

Today I want to bring out PTSD--how it impacts our lives and some very important perspectives for healing.
