Rules for thee but not for me — that’s the reality we’re living in, and it’s downright infuriating. Politicians and public servants get away with murder, figuratively and sometimes literally, while everyday Aussies cop the full brunt of the law for the smallest mistakes. They preach accountability, but when they’re caught deleting public records, misusing taxpayer funds, or outright lying, they just walk away with a smug grin and a golden handshake. Meanwhile, honest workers can barely keep up with the rent while paying fines for parking an inch over the line.
It’s sickening how they manipulate the system to cover their own backsides, all while lecturing us about responsibility and integrity. They destroy documents, sweep scandals under the rug, and make hollow promises of transparency — but when it’s time to face the music, they’re untouchable. If you or I tried half the stuff they pull, we’d be buried under legal fees and slapped with criminal charges faster than you can say “double standards.”
We’re told to respect the law, pay our taxes, and do the right thing, while those at the top bend every rule to suit their agenda. It’s time to rip off the mask and expose the hypocrisy for what it really is — a twisted game where the powerful always win.
