Hallelujah (1929)

Zeke visits the city to sell his family's cotton harvest and meets a dancer, who convinces him to join a rigged dice game. When Zeke loses all the money, he gets into a fight, accidentally shooting his little brother. This tragedy leads Zeke to become a preacher, seeking redemption.
