Mulder visits a blood bank where a night watchman is caught drinking blood. The watchman, known as ‘The Son,’ claims to be part of a trio of vampires seeking immortality. Mulder dismisses his claims—until The Son is burned to death by sunlight, leaving Mulder stunned.
At Club Tepes, a local vampire hangout, Mulder meets Kristen Kilar, a young woman who indulges in blood consumption. He follows her and another patron, David Yung, but is beaten by Yung when caught spying. Later, Yung is murdered by the killers.
Mulder investigates Kristen’s background and discovers she lived in cities where previous murders occurred. He searches her home and finds blood-related paraphernalia. Kristen reveals she fled from The Son after he formed the Unholy Trinity and began killing.
In a tense moment, Mulder and Kristen kiss, but The Son, now resurrected, watches from the shadows. He tells Kristen that by killing Mulder and drinking his blood, she can join the Trinity.
Kristen stabs The Father instead and helps Mulder escape. The Unholy Spirit attacks Mulder, but Kristen drives her into a wooden peg, killing her. Kristen then sacrifices herself by blowing up the house, taking The Son with her.
In the end, Mulder stares at Scully’s cross necklace, a poignant reminder of his loss and determination to find her."
