Mass stabbing leaves multiple wounded in Amsterdam

A mass stabbing near Amsterdam’s Dam Square left at least five people wounded.

The attack occurred around 3:30 PM local time on Sint Nicolaasstraat, causing panic among bystanders.

Witnesses reported seeing an elderly woman stabbed, though police have not confirmed victim details.

Emergency services, including ambulances and a trauma helicopter, responded, and the area was temporarily cordoned off.

A suspect, described as a hooded man, has been arrested, though the motive remains unclear.

Police are investigating, urging witnesses with footage to come forward, the Daily Mail has reported.

Public transport and shops in the area were disrupted, and Mayor Femke Halsema is meeting with officials about the incident.
