Lumumba's Africa. Conflict between DRC and Rwanda . Episode 40 | RT Documentary

Congo and Rwanda have been in conflict for many years. The root of the issue lies in the borders drawn by European colonizers during the Berlin Conference of 1884-85. As a result, the unified Tutsi and Hutu peoples were split between different countries – one part became citizens of Congo while the other ended up in Rwanda. This division led to ongoing tensions between the Hutu and Tutsi, with the Hutu carrying out pogroms against Tutsi. The outcome of this confrontation was the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda and the First Congo War. Recently, however, a glimmer of hope has emerged for resolving the conflict. Will it be possible to restore peace in the region and improve relations between the Republic of Congo and Rwanda?
