Suspect arrested in Las Vegas Tesla arson had “self-proclaimed ties” to Communist Party USA: police

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill announced the arrest of 36-year-old Paul Kim in their arson investigation of a Tesla collision centre on March 18.

Asst. Sheriff Dori Koren detailed how the department identified the suspect so quickly with only minimal information. Koren also said a search warrant at the apartment of the suspect turned up numerous guns.

“A preliminary assessment of the suspect's social media activity indicates some very loose but self-proclaimed ties to the Communist Party USA social media group, as well as social media groups called Revolutionary Communist International, Hidden Palestine, Palestine Action,” Koren said.
