"Canada is not going to become the 51st state, just for sheer structural reasons…We'd have more representatives in Congress than California would, and they wouldn't be MAGA voters. It would completely destabilize the the US political system from the inside…Imagine 30 or 40 Canadian Bernie-Sanders-type representatives.

…So it's like Quebec separation, it becomes this storm, this Sturm und Drang in the system that obscures what's really going on.
