This was another of my early picture prompts. And just like Draconic Bargain, the image that served as the inspiration for this tale came from Facebook. I would have provided a link to the image, yet once again I’m learning that Facebook links have a limited time to live. That said, I’ll do my best to describe the sight from memory. Well, at least I’ll do my best since I only remember a single portion of the picture.

With a full moon shining brightly, we’re treated to a typical witch flying across the sky. I can’t remember how much detailed the witch was drawn in. But the mood of the midnight flight made me think of a World War II bomber heading to strafe their latest target. While this bomber story flowed into my mind, I needed to anchor it with the image. So I married the concept of witches escorting the bomber to help protect it from their enemy’s defensive spells.
