True American Hero-Desmond Doss

This is the real life hero from the film, "Hacksaw Ridge." Desmond Doss was a man who truly lived for Jesus Christ with conviction. After saving 75 men from certain death, he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Doss later contracted Tuberculosis from the trenches he laid in while he was giving medical care to his fellow soldiers. As a result, his left lung had to be removed and he was placed on medical disability for the rest of his life; the film did not mention this consequence of his heroism. Doss choose to give his own safety, to save lives, for the glory of Jesus Christ.
