Desensitizing Sunny Boy To The New Scale

Not sure I explained that correctly in the video so I'll text it out.
I can desensitize Sunny Boy with an object or a toy while sitting with him on the couch. It takes time. And I mean, a lot of time. Sometimes 2 weeks 😂 Once he gets used to seeing it he learns that it is safe.
I can spend time with Sunny in the kitchen and place that object or toy on the counter before I place him on the counter and he will act like he is afraid of it. I can place him on the counter first and he will react the same exact way. I don't know how many times I've had to start all over with desensitizing him to objects.
The best that I can do for him regarding the new scale is to have it on top of the dishwasher where he spends a lot of time with me while I am in the kitchen. Plus, the dishwasher is where I will be weighing him on a regular basis.
Tonight we practiced just once. Tomorrow we will try again before my husband goes to work so that he will be there to help me so that hopefully, Sunny doesn't fall on his bum.
