A Scale Is One Of the Best Investments

One of the best investments you can do for your parrot is to buy a scale so that you can keep track of their weight on a weekly basis.
When weighing your parrot it should be done first thing in the morning, before they start eating breakfast. Weighing later in the day could give you an inaccurate reading because their weight will fluctuate throughout the day.
Establish a weekly routine, same time, same day and journal their weight. Losing weight can be an indication of illness or sickness.
You can also take the scale with you during a vet visit to compare it to theirs to see if there is a difference between the two.
Today Luka's weight is 86 grams because I weighed him after he had been eating. Tomorrow I will check his weight in the morning and compare it to the new scale again. (Just to be sure).
