Are You Feeling Depressed?

Are you feeling alienated and depressed? This is a natural consequence of awakening. As your eyes open to the deception in the world, a feeling of alienation consumes the soul. Awakening ignites feelings of depression as one struggles with a loss of meaning or purpose in life. But there is no need for despair. These are necessary and expected emotions that accompany the process of conscious evolution. From an evolutionary perspective, the senses are being forced, or have achieved the ability to, detect novel stimuli in the environment that once lie beyond one's perceptual threshold. Similarly, consciousness progresses through stages and empowers us to perceive certain truths about reality that were once veiled by our former state of ignorance. This can be a daunting experience. We will find ourselves surrounded by others whose perceptual and conscious abilities have not yet progressed to this same level. Indeed, most will never reach this same level due to the system of control and deception that has been erected around us designed intentionally to impede this progression. Thus, like the cave dweller from Plato's allegory, we will find ourselves isolated and alone. We will become alienated, ostracized from our former allies and communities, for their present state precludes them from seeing the truths you have come to see. In some moments, this will seem hopeless. Take solace in the fact that you are not alone. Though we are fewer in number, there are those who have acquired these same abilities. You have become a light piercing through the shadowy veil of Dark City. Be well.
