How to Easily Get a Free iPhone (Illegally)

There's a rumour going around saying Japan's Apple Stores are easy to steal from.

So let's compare a store in London to Tokyo.

At first, London's set up does look clean. But then you realise all the phones attached to the tables via a tether. So you can't really pull the iPhone out much unless you use force. But even then someone will stop you.

Now let's go to one in Tokyo, at night.

Here there is a culture of trust. Crimes are rare so I bet no one would notice if I picked this phone up and walked out the door. There is no tether or even security to stop me. Makes me wonder how much money, time, and innovation is wasted developing solutions for problems that don't need to exist.
