The Bolshoi Theatre is Russia’s premier ballet and opera stage, as well as one of the country’s most iconic symbols. For nearly 250 years, it has set the global standard for graceful and elegant performances on a grand scale, with more than 140 world leaders having watched from the theatre's royal box.

Svetlana Zakharova, the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi and one of the most renowned dancers of our time, has graced the world's best stages but considers the Bolshoi her true home. She explains that not everyone can overcome the fear of stepping onto that grand stage – such is the power of the Bolshoi’s energy. However, once you find the strength to do so, the stage welcomes you, allowing you to perform the best ballets and operas imaginable, giving everything you have to the audience – and receiving their appreciation in return.
