PBKS beat LSG by 8 wickets in the 13th match of IPL-25. Prabhsimran Singh POTM

The 13th Match of Men’s Tata IPL-2025 was played between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium Lucknow on 1st April,2025. In this match Punjab Kings defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets. In this match Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Lucknow Super Giants while batting first scored 171 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 172 runs to Punjab Kings to win. In reply Punjab Kings scored 177 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 16.2 overs and won the match by 8 wickets.
While batting first Lucknow Super Giants started badly and lost three wickets early at the score of 35 runs in 4.5 overs. Mitchell Marsh was first to go out in the very first of the match caught by Marco Jansen of the bowing of Arshdeep Singh and went out without scoring.
Then Lockie Ferguson bold Aiden Markram who scored 28 runs from 18 balls hitting 4 fours and one six. Rishabh Pant failed in this match also and made only 2 runs from 5 balls. Pant was caught by Yuzvender Chahal of the bowling of Glenn Maxwell and Lucknow were reeling at 35 for 3 wickets.
Then Nicholas Pooran with Ayush Badoni added 54 runs from 40 balls for the fourth wicket and somehow consolidated the innings.
Nicholas Pooran top scored with 44 runs from 30 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes and was removed by Yuzvendra Chahal caught by Glenn Maxwell
Ayush Badoni played a gem of innings of 41 runs from 33 balls hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. Arsdeep Singh took the wicket of Badoni caught by Glenn Maxwell. David Miller contributed 19 runs from 18 balls hitting 3 fours. Adul Samad played well and made 27 runs from12 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.
Shradul Thakur remined not out on 3 runs. Arshdeep Singh bowled well and took 3 wickets. One wicket each was taken by Lockie Fergusion,Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal. LSG scored huge total of 171 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply PBKS scored 177 runs for 2 wickets in 16.2 overs and won the match by 8 wickets. Priyansh Arya was first to go out caught by Shradul Thakur of the bowling of Digvesh Rathi scoring only 8 runs from 9 balls.
Then Prabhsimran Singh with Shreyas Iyer batted with authority and added 84 runs from 44 balls for the second wicket and ensured the win for Punjab Kings. Prabhsimran Singh top scored with 69 runs from 34 balls only hitting 9 fours and 3 sixes and was second wicket to fall caught by Ravi Bishnoi of the bowling of Digvesh Rathi.
Shreyas Iyer played a gem of innings of 52 runs not out from 30 balls hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Shreyas Iyer added unbeaten 67 runs from 37 balls with Nehal Wadhera and won the match for Punjab Kings.
Nehal Wadhera remained not out on 43 runs from 25 balls hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Punjab Kings won the match by 8 wickets. Prabhsimran Singh was adjudged the Player of the Match.
