### **THE THINGS ON THE STAIRS**

Late at night, **Ravi** was home alone, studying in his room. The old house was silent except for the occasional creak of wood settling.

Then, he heard it—**soft footsteps on the stairs**.

His heart pounded. He lived **alone**.

He grabbed his phone and tiptoed toward the staircase. Peering down, he saw **nothing**. Just darkness.

He exhaled, turning to go back—when suddenly, a **whisper** floated up from below.

*"Come down."*

The blood drained from his face. His phone’s flashlight flickered as he pointed it down the stairs.

At the bottom stood **a figure… or rather, figures.**
**Dozens of them.** Shadowy, twisted shapes, their faces stretched into grotesque smiles.

Then, they **moved.**

Ravi stumbled back as the figures **crawled up the stairs**, their limbs bending the wrong way.

The last thing he saw before they reached him—was their **wide, hungry grins.**

The house fell silent once more.

🔥 **THE END.**
