David had just moved into his new apartment. It was cheap, quiet, and perfect—except for one thing.

The **peephole**.

Something felt **off** about it. It was **lower** than usual, almost as if it was meant for someone… smaller.

One night, just past **3 AM**, a **soft knock** echoed through the apartment. Half-asleep, David walked to the door and peeked through the peephole.

At first, he saw **nothing**. The hallway was empty.

Then, suddenly, a **bloodshot eye** stared **back at him**.

David **stumbled backward**, his heart pounding. Another **knock**—this time, louder.

He held his breath. The **doorknob turned slightly**, but the lock held.

Then, a whisper from the other side.

**“I see you.”**

David **froze**. Slowly, he leaned forward, his eye barely brushing against the peephole.

The **eye was gone**.

Silence.

Then, something **moved** inside the apartment.

David spun around—
But the peephole was still in front of him.

Someone was **inside the walls**.
