Security researchers discovered a backdoor in Unitree Robotics’ Go1 robot dogs, allowing unauthorized access to live camera feeds and location data.

The vulnerability, listed as CVE-2025-2894, raised concerns about potential foreign surveillance, particularly from China.

U.S. officials, including Rep. John Moolenaar, called it a national security threat. Unitree claimed the issue stemmed from a third-party cloud service and has since been disabled, Axios has reported.

Newer models like the Go2 reportedly feature upgraded security.
