1 John 3 – If we practice righteousness, we know we are born of Him and we are His children. 2021

1 John 3:1
See how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

John just told us that if we practice righteousness, we know we are born of Him and we are His children. This is how great a love the Father has bestowed upon us. Being a child of the Father is not something that someone chooses or earns. It is a gift of Elohim.

Eph. 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9not as a result of works, that no one should boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Those that are not His do not know Him or His ways. By the same token the world will not know those that practice His righteousness.

John 15:18-19 “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19“If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
