Readings: Numbers 21:4-9 (first reading), Psalm 102:2-3, 16-21, John 8:21-30 (Gospel) – Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent (Year B).

“O Jesus, today’s Gospel warns, ‘Where I go, you cannot come,’ yet Thou art lifted up for all. Bishop Sheen said, ‘The Cross is Thy sign, O Lord, healing our serpent bites.’ Numbers tells of the bronze snake—raised high, it saves the grumbling flock. St. Charbel bids you look to Thee today, confessing your complaints in prayer. The Lord saith, ‘I am He’—in His lifting up, you find life eternal. This Lent, turn from sin’s poison to His mercy—gaze upon His Cross with faith. Let your eyes see the Son, for Thou, O Lord, art the cure of every wound.”
