Freedom Force is a two-game series of single-player Tactical RPGs made by Irrational Games, and an homage to the Silver Age of superhero comics. It features a team of superheroes given powers by Energy X, a substance introduced to Earth by the alien Lord Dominion. In the primary setting, Patriot City, Energy X randomly empowers people who turn out to be superhero material, forming the Freedom Force team that defends the city from various threats.

The series includes "Freedom Force" and its sequel "Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich," which follows the adventures of the eponymous Freedom Force as they face diverse enemies such as communists, giant ants, dinosaurs, and even the Third Reich.
