Boston is a small town located in the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) province of South Africa. It sits in the uMkhomazi and Elands River valley, within the Natal Midlands, roughly an hour’s drive from Durban and about 40 kilometers from the town of Bulwer. Nestled in the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains, Boston is part of an area often referred to as the "Boston-Bulwer Beat," known for its scenic rolling hills, lush forests, lakes, waterfalls, and dams. This makes it a peaceful retreat with plenty of outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, rafting, birding, and paragliding, especially around nearby spots like Bulwer Mountain.

The town itself is quaint and doesn’t stand out much on its own, blending into the broader appeal of the region. It’s a hub for nature lovers, with attractions like the Midlands Meander nearby—a popular tourist route showcasing the beauty and culture of KZN. The area has a rich history too, once roamed by San hunter-gatherers and later settled by Boers during the Great Trek after 1837. Today, it’s a spot where you can escape the bustle of city life, with a mix of adventure and tranquility on offer.
