Trump is imposing tariffs against the EU

The United States is imposing tariffs on the European Union, and that has caused diplomatic tension. However, from Europe there have been dissenting voices. Santiago Abascal, the leader of Vox, the right-wing party in Spain—or at least as it has been described, a bit more conservative—says, while he does oppose these tariffs, it's clear that the European Union was the first to impose tariffs on the United States. So, this is a matter of reciprocity.

There must be not only diplomacy, but also negotiation, especially because the products that will be affected by tariffs are basic necessities, like agricultural products—mostly food. So yes, in order to reduce costs, tariffs should be lowered, but it has to be under a principle of reciprocity.

It’s very easy to talk about the free market, but not when it’s done unilaterally.
