Use your fucking hands to open the door yourselves.
You are able-bodied and have zero problems opening (pushing or pulling) the door.
Leave the switches for those who depend on it, and don't fucking damage it. Because if you end up disabled from a severe injury or fall, you will be reconsidering your actions, ten-fold, especially if that switch is damaged and doesn't at all work, since YOU were the fuckhead who damaged it previously.
