Should You Carry Non-Lethal Weapons For Self Defense?

Would I ever carry a pepper spray gun instead of my actual gun? No. But John Lott’s article on nonlethal alternatives got me thinking—because while I’m not giving up my firearm, maybe there’s a time and place for something like a Byrna.

In this video, I break down the pros, cons, and realities of nonlethal self-defense tools. They're not a replacement for a gun, but they might make sense in places you can’t carry—or for people who aren’t ready for the responsibility of a lethal weapon.

Bottom line: carry what makes sense for you—but don’t overestimate what these nonlethal tools can actually do. And whatever you choose, train with it.
