Why Did Jesus Have to Die?

We all know Jesus died for the sins of the world. For your sin. But when you stop and think about it, why? I mean certainly you are basically a good person. You might have had a few minor hiccups in life, but overall you feel that the sin you have committed certainly does not deserve the brutal torture and murder of God Himself, right? Then why was that the way sin needed to be forgiven?

We are a Bible-Based, Jesus Only small community church located in rural South-East Minnesota. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county.
Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures.
Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone!
There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely.
