Add vasoline (or use rust paint) to rust-proof your foot/air pump so it lasts many years!

This is especially important if you want to keep it in good working condition for many years to come. Preventative maintenance is key to ensuring you never have to buy a new one due to it breaking.

Using vasoline is a quick and dirty way to stop and/or prevent rusting or existing surface rust from increasing. A torch can be used to melt it into the places that are hard to get at. Every single piece that holds the frame and pump piece TO the frame needs to be done. Wipe away excess. Ensure it doesn't get on the rubber hose!

When spray painting it, cover the gauge with tape. Get at ALL of the metal that keeps it together, including the moving parts. Turn it upside down and sideways to ensure this is done right.
