Maya inherited her grandmother’s farmhouse, surrounded by endless sunflower fields. But something felt off—the sunflowers all faced the house, not the sun.

One evening, ignoring a warning in her grandmother’s diary—"Never go into the field after sunset"—she stepped outside.

The moment the sun dipped below the horizon, the sunflowers turned… to face her.

Their rustling sounded like whispers.

Running back inside, she locked the doors. But each night, they crept closer—faces in the center of the blooms twisting into human features.

On the final night, her grandmother’s face appeared on the tallest sunflower.

"We all bloom eventually," it whispered.

Roots burst from the ground, dragging Maya into the soil.

By morning, a new sunflower had sprouted.

It smiled with Maya’s face.
