Pope Francis greets crowds at St Peter’s Square

Pope Francis made a surprise appearance in St. Peter’s Square, greeting crowds from a wheelchair with an oxygen tube, just weeks after being discharged from the hospital following five weeks of treatment.

Despite doctors recommending two months of rest, the 88-year-old Pope appeared in good spirits, thanking the crowd and wishing them a happy Sunday.

The Vatican says his health is improving, the BBC has reported.
