The "woke right" is a term that has emerged in political discussions to describe a segment of conservative or right-leaning individuals or groups who adopt certain rhetorical styles, strategies, or cultural critiques typically associated with progressive or "woke" left-wing ideology. It’s a bit of a paradox—think of it as conservatives borrowing from the progressive playbook but flipping the script to fit their own values and goals. At its core, the woke right critiques what they see as excesses or hypocrisies in liberal culture, institutions, or policies, often using the same language of justice, oppression, or moral superiority that’s more commonly wielded by the left. For example, they might frame traditional values (like family, religion, or national identity) as under attack by a dominant "woke" elite, casting themselves as an oppressed minority fighting back against cultural erasure. It’s less about policy specifics and more about a vibe—a way of signaling that they’re awake to some perceived societal scam, just not the one the left is focused on. None of this sounds particularly dangerous, but it is. The right’s version of wokeism could be headed toward a fascism and totalitarianism that is just as dangerous to Americans and our core values of life, liberty, and property as the woke left’s Marxism and Communism are.
