Anti-War? Possible $1 Trillion Defense Budget

Trump and Pete Hegseth recently mentioned that they are about to install a $1 trillion defense budget that would break records... What happened to being anti-war and the government efficiency of reducing the budget? Along with that Trump wants to do a dictator style military parade for his birthday... He attempted this in 2018 and would have cost $92 million. If that's not enough there's a video of him giving an interview back in 2018 praising North Korea's Kim Jong Un saying he wants to be like him.
