Russian troops are exerting increasing pressure on the enemy in the remaining part of the Kursk region, which is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian formations are being defeated and are losing defensive midfielders at a rapid rate. The fighting is shifting to the south, and the Kursk direction is already being referred to as Sumy.

🔻Further insights into the chronology of battles in the sector:

By the beginning of April 2025, two areas of particular activity had been identified in the Kursk direction: the Zhuravka-Basovka line in the Sumy region and the Oleshnya-Guevo section in the Kursk region.

The primary objective of the RF Armed Forces was to finalize the encirclement of the Ukrainian military formations and to launch an offensive on Yunakovka from the north.

At the onset of April 2025, Russian military forces initiated an offensive along the Loknya River, successfully capturing the eastern sector of Basovka by the beginning of April. By April 6, the entirety of the village had come under the stable control of the RF Armed Forces.

By April 8, Russian assault groups had entered the northern outskirts of Loknya, engaging in combat on the settlement's territory. Concurrently, in the Kursk region, the RF Armed Forces, leveraging their positions in the Babak gully, had reached the northwestern outskirts of the border village of Oleshnya by April 8, initiating battles for control of the settlement.

By April 6, the Russian troops operating to the east, advancing from the direction of the Guyevskaya Vilkha tract, had established secure control over most of the private sector of Guevo and attacked enemy positions in the forests to the south.

By April 8, the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment and the 177th Marine Regiment, in collaboration with the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment, the 177th Marine Regiment, and the 22nd Motorized Rifle Regiment, expelled the enemy from the area, thereby liberating the settlement and raising the Russian flag in the center of the region.

📌The ongoing military operations are characterized by intense resistance from the opposing forces, yet the Russian Federation's armed forces persist in their advance, liberating the Kursk region through meticulous and methodical progress. They are currently engaged in offensive operations in the neighboring Sumy region. It is noteworthy that a negligible portion of the nation's territory remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
