Loving Art: Passing It On to the Next Generation with Nina Heyn and Ricardo Oskam

As part of our “Loving Art” theme for the 1st Quarter 2025 Wrap Up, Nina Heyn—our March 31 Hero of the Week—joins me to discuss learning about fine art and why it is a critical component of a free and inspired life.

Creating art is part of who we are as human beings, and it has the capacity to capture and tell stories from generations long past. Art invites us into an endless realm of discovery. Often, we learn about ourselves by studying the art that resonates with us at a deep level—a feeling that usually can only come from witnessing paintings and other artworks in real life.

How do we invite the next generation to participate, and how do we effectively guide them along their personal journeys? Nina and I have found that the United States and Europe each have their own unique challenges in addressing these questions, ranging from broad socioeconomic and cultural trends to the practical matter of budgets.
