Today we are making Alexis's (Olive Garden) Zuppa Toscona. I've made this in restaurant and over the years since and have made alterations that I felt have made the soup just more delicious!

Ingredients
3 pounds Italian ground sausage
2 cups chopped bacon or bacon bits
1 large onion - diced
¼ cup minced garlic
3 boxes of 32 oz chicken broth
2 cups water
5 potatoes; sliced or diced
3 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon seasoned or red pepper
2 cups heavy cream
1 bunch/bundle chopped kale
3 teaspoons Fresh Chopped Italians Herbs

1. Sauté the sausage, bacon, & fresh chopped Italian herbs together until mostly brown.
Then add onion & garlic. Drain off excess grease once browned.
2. In a dutch oven or stock pot bring to a boil chicken broth, water, & sliced potatoes. Boil until tender.
3. Once the potatoes are tender, add the rest of the seasoning, heavy cream, kale, & the drained meat into the dutch oven or stock pot along with the potatoes.
4. Enjoy!!!

This makes a large stock pot that will feed a large family.
