The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Part Eleven
With Loc Muinne locked down by the Order of the Flaming Rose, Geralt and Iorveth were forced to take the long way in. While Iorveth scouted for a hidden entrance, Geralt debated whether to sneak in or approach the Temerian camp at the city gates.
Naturally, the Scoia'tael commander found a way through the sewers. Together, they snuck into the city, only to learn that Philippa Eilhart had been imprisoned. Iorveth investigated her home, while Geralt reluctantly descended once again into the stench-filled underworld to reach her.
What he found was horrifying. King Radovid, alongside Shilard Fitz-Oesterlen, was exacting brutal revenge on Philippa for years of humiliation. The mad king of Redania had her eyes gouged out in a twisted act of vengeance. Once Radovid left, Geralt made his move, confronting Shilard in the hopes of gaining intel on Triss Merigold's whereabouts.
Rather than slay him, Geralt took Fitz-Oesterlen hostage, planning to exchange him for Triss. But things took a dark turn. At the Nilfgaardian camp, Renuald aep Matsen made his stance crystal clear executing Shilard without hesitation. Geralt, now surrounded by the Black Ones, fought with everything he had.
He survived the ambush, and on Renuald’s body, he found a key. With it, Triss was finally freed.
There was no time for a reunion. As always, war was brewing, conspiracies deepened, and Triss revealed a crushing truth: SÃle de Tansarville was among the conspirators behind the assassinations of Northern kings. Together, she and Geralt made a swift escape.
The final threads of this tangled web are unraveling and Loc Muinne holds the answers.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (Polish: Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów) is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by CD Projekt Red, based on Andrzej Sapkowski's fantasy novels. By September 2014, it had sold over 8 million copies, cementing its status as both a critical and commercial success. The series' acclaim continued with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in May 2015.
