The 24th Match of Men’s Tata IPL-2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals at M Chinnaswamy Stadium Bengaluru on 10th April,2025. In this match Delhi Capitals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets. In this match Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru while batting first scored 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and gave target of 164 runs to Delhi Capitals to win. In reply Delhi Capitals scored 169 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.5 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
While batting first Royal Challengers Bengaluru started very well with both openers going on with great guns and added quickfire 61 runs in 3.5 overs only. Then misunderstanding between Philip Salt and Virat Kohli resulted in the unfortunate run out of Philip Salt after scoring superb 37 runs from 17 balls hitting 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Devdutt Padikkal was second to go out caught by Axar Patel of the bowling of Mukesh Kumar and scored 1 run from 8 balls. Virat Kohli was third wicket to fall caught by Mitchell Starc of the bowling of Vipraj Nigam after scoring 22 runs from 14 balls hitting 1 four and 2 sixes.
Then RCB lost the wickets at regular intervals and were put on back foot. RCB were strugling at one stage with 117 for 6 wickets in 14.5 overs. Liam Livingstone scored 4 runs from 6 balls , Jitesh Sharma scored 3 runs from 11 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar was out caught by KL Rahul of the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav and contributed 25 runs from 23 balls hitting 1 four and one six.Krunal Pandya made 18 runs from 18 balls and was caught by Ashutosh Sharma of the bowling of Vipraj Nigam. Tim David made quickfire not out 37 runs from 20 balls hitting 2 fours and 4 sixes and played a major role for RCB to reach to the respectable score of 163 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar remained not out on one run.RCB managed to score 163 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took 2 wickets each. One wicket each was taken by Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma.Philip Salt was run out.
In reply Delhi Capitals scored 169 runs for 4 wickets in 17.5 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. DC started poorly and at one stage were in dire consequences at 58 for 4 in 8.4 overs and looked as if they will loose the match. The openers Faf du Plesis and Jake Fraser-McGurk went early within first three overs of the match.
Faf du Plesis was first to go out caught by Rajat Patidar of the bowling of Yash Dayal after scoring 2 runs from 7 balls.Then Jake Fraser-McGurk was second to go out after scoring 7 runs from 6 balls hitting 4 fours.
Abishek Porel followed them and was third wicket to fall after scoring 7 runs only from 7 balls hitting 1 four. DC lost the wicket of captain Axar Patel at the score of 58 runs and defeat was looking imminent at this stage for DC.
Then KL Rahul with Tristan Stubbs played their heart out and added unbeaten 111 runs for the fifth wicket and ensured Delhi Capitals win. KL Rahul played a match winning innings of 93 not out runs from 53 balls hitting 7 fours and 6 towering sixes.Tristan Stubbs remained not out on 38 runs from 23 balls hitting 4 fours and one six.
DC sored 169 for 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. KL Rahul was adjudged the Player of the Match.
