A Brief History of Israel: The Abrahamic Pattern

In this Session we discuss the events of Abraham's life culminating with Isaac taking a bride. We also demonstrate how the lives of Abraham and Isaac establish a prophetic pattern that is fulfilled throughout the history of Israel going from Jacob to Jesus and into the ministry of the Apostles to Gentiles. I certainly hope this blesses you all.

Below are the events as reviewed in the video:

EVENTS: ABRAHAM to ISAAC:
1. Abraham travels through Paddan Aram, south through Canaan, through Bethel, to Hebron. (Gen 12:4-9)

2.Famine drives Abraham and his family to Egypt. (Gen 12:10)

3. The Bride/Body of Abraham, Sarah, Taken Captive by Pharoah (Gen 12:11-16)

4. Abraham forced to leave due to plagues, given wealth and gifts, closely followed by Pharaoh's Army. (Gen 12:17-20)

5. The High Priest, Melchizedek, blesses God for providing for Abraham and his people, and the people are divided among judges; Aner, Eschol, and Mamre. (Gen 14:16-24)

6. A son promised, a blocked way, a son conceived in an Egyptian Slave, exiled to the wilderness, restored by a messenger of God, the Egyptian slave son is born into Abraham's house and all males circumcised in accordance with the Command of the Lord (Gen 15:1-17:27)

7. The Lord reconfirms the covenant with Abraham, sends his two messengers to two cities, Sodom & Gomorrah, which are destroyed for their mistreatment of innocent within the city, mistreatment of the messengers sent to the cities, compounded by disregard for God’s ordinances. (Gen 18:1-Gen 19:38)

8. Abraham & his family go into another foreign house (Abimelech), the bride separated from her husband again, the bride denies her husband, is restored to her husband through dream interpretation, wealth is awarded, the bride rebuked, a prayer that opens barren wombs then a son of promise born (Gen 20:1-21:7)

9. The son of promise is taken up mount Moriah, the wood laid on him, a sheep is provided with thorns on its head, the old mother dies, and the son takes a gentile bride. (Gen 22-24)

EVENTS: JACOB to JESUS:
1. Jacob travels through Paddan Aram, south through Canaan, through Bethel, to Hebron. (Gen 28:10-41:57)

2. Famine drives all of God's people to Egypt (Gen 42:1-Exo 1:8)

3. The bride/body of God (God's people) are taken captive by Pharaoh. (Exo 1:9-7:13)

4. God's people forced to leave due to plagues, given wealth and gifts, closely followed by Pharaoh's Army. (Exo 7:14-15:21)

5. The High Priest, Jethro, blesses God for providing for Moses and his people, and the people are divided among judges (Exo 15:22-18:27)

6. A Kingdom promised, a blocked way, a kingdom conceived in Egyptian idolatry, exiled to the wilderness, restored by a messenger of God, the idolatrous kingdom is born into Abraham’s promised land and all males circumcised in accordance with the Command of the Lord (Exo 19:1-40:35)

7. The Lord reconfirms the covenant with his people, sends his messengers (Prophets) Elijah & Elisha to the two cities, Jerusalem & Samaria, which are destroyed for their mistreatment of innocent within the city, mistreatment of the messengers sent to the cities, compounded by disregard for God’s ordinances. (1st & 2nd Sam, 1st/2nd Kings & 1st/2nd Chronicles & all the Prophets)

8. God's people go into another foreign house (Babylon), the bride separated from her husband again, the bride denies her husband, then restored to God her husband through dream interpretation, wealth awarded, the bride rebuked, a prayer that opens barren wombs then the true son of promise born. (Daniel, Esther, Ezra, Nehemiah, all the Prophets)

9. The true son of promise is taken up mount Moriah, the wood laid on him, the Lamb of God with thorns on his head as an offering for all, the old mother dies, and the son takes a gentile bride. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts)
