So I always thought the most expensive substance was a rare mineral like a diamond. Until I found out some lab grown drugs can be more expensive per gram, compared to cheap diamonds. But while the most expensive substance is usually made in a lab, it isn't a drug, and in theory you can harvest it on your own.
