The founder of the United National Congress(UNC) introduced a style of governance which was "people centered" and focused on serving and empowering the poor and middle class citizens, instead of the elites (1%). For the first time in T&T's history, every creed and race truly found and equal place, back in the 1990s, under the UNC and Basdeo Panday.
