BIG NUMBERS Expected for Lilo & Stitch | Can DISNEY Get a WIN?

Disney may have a bright Memorial Day weekend with their live-action Lilo & Stitch expect to hit $100 million domestically during its opening weekend.

Disney needs to have a box office win with the poor performance of their live-action Snow White not even being able to break $200 million globally after nearly a month in theaters. The failure of Snow White resulted in Disney putting a pause on their planned live-action Tangled movie. One reason often cited as to why Snow White failed, besides Rachel Zegler, was because of how the story deviated from the original. So far Lilo & Stitch appears to be a more faithful adaptation. If it succeeds it could create a road map for Disney on how to proceed with adapting their animated films.
