In defense of tariffs

Our nation ran on tariffs for nearly 150 years. it used to be called protectionism which means that our industry, here that employ Americans is protected against products coming in from countries with cheap labor. that was destroyed beginning in the 70s when Wall Street pushed corporations to move their operations to countries like China where the labor was very cheap and there was no Environmental Protections so that the CEOs and the stockholders could make millions while Americans were laid off and our labor was decreased in value all in the name of getting cheap products at Walmart. The one-dimensional thinkers against tariffs don't understand how it destroys our economy and weakens our nation or they do but don't care.
