Whatever you think of tariffs, it’s clear that now is the worst possible time for the United States to participate in a military strike on Iran. We can’t afford it. Thousands of Americans would die. We’d lose the war that follows. Nothing would be more destructive to our country. And yet we’re closer than ever, thanks to unrelenting pressure from neocons. This is suicidal. Anyone advocating for conflict with Iran is not an ally of the United States, but an enemy.

Was auch immer man von Zöllen hält, es ist klar, dass jetzt der denkbar schlechteste Zeitpunkt für die USA ist, sich an einem Militärschlag gegen den Iran zu beteiligen. Wir können es uns nicht leisten. Tausende Amerikaner würden sterben. Wir würden den darauffolgenden Krieg verlieren. Nichts wäre zerstörerischer für unser Land. Und doch sind wir dank des unerbittlichen Drucks der Neokonservativen näher dran als je zuvor. Das ist selbstmörderisch. Wer einen Konflikt mit dem Iran befürwortet, ist kein Verbündeter der USA, sondern ihr Feind.
