5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Rocks Julian, CA – Shaking Felt Across San Diego and Los Angeles

A powerful 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck just south of Julian, California on Monday morning, shaking large parts of San Diego County and even reaching as far as Los Angeles. The quake hit around 10:00 AM PST, with aftershocks quickly following.

According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred about 8 miles deep and triggered the ShakeAlert early warning system, giving many residents seconds to prepare. Fortunately, no major injuries or damage have been reported so far.
