Democrats think that closing the border to illegal immigrants is racist

John Kennedy: "Democrats believe in open borders, and some of the Democrats — not all, but some — think that investigating people at the border is racist, that anyone who wants to come to the United States should be allowed to. And that if you want to know who’s coming in for national security reasons, you’re a racist.

Other Democrats see a political advantage in it. They believe that if they let all these people in, they’ll be able to convince them to vote for Democrats, because it was the Democrats who let them in — which is a pretty cynical approach to America’s future. But hey, that’s how things work in Washington.

The good news is that the American people said "no," we’re fed up with this, and they elected President Trump. And we’ve already secured the border. And it didn’t take long — I knew it wouldn’t take long. All we did was go back to doing what we were doing the day before Joe Biden took office.

I read the news from McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley frequently, and the headlines in January and February came from Border Patrol agents who were grateful that they are now free to do their jobs. And that’s what it was about: they were given permission to do their jobs.

The American people are pretty practical and fair on this issue. They don’t see it the way some people present it. Most Americans lock their doors at night. They don’t do it because they hate everyone outside — they do it because they love the people inside and want to know who’s coming in and out of their house. That’s how they see the southern border.

They don’t hate everyone who wants to come to the United States. We legally welcome around a million people a year. They just want to know who’s coming in. And not everyone who came in was bad — but many were. We’re talking about gang members, rapists, drug traffickers, child traffickers. And we don’t know who they are or where they are.

President Biden simply opened the door. And then, frankly, he lied to the American people about it. He said, "I’m doing the best I can. We’re trying. It’s hard." And we’re trying. But I went down there several times and saw it. People were just saying, "Come on in, come in."

But anyway, we’ve already secured it. Now we’re working on getting rid of the bad apples. Getting them out of the United States."
