Songs Of Rats | A Post Apocalyptic Text Based RPG

In this episode I check out a Post Apocalyptic Text Based RPG called Songs Of Rats. This game was developed by Tesseract Games, and is published by Salient Games, who released the popular horror game Gore Doctor. Songs Of Rats takes inspiration from classic choose your own adventure novels, with the player taking the role of a scavenger, who has chosen to leave their colony in search of the vital resources needed to save the people. Your adventure will take you across the Wreckage, a maze like expanse filled with priceless treasures, advanced technology and untold dangers. Each decision you make will uncover weapons and items to aid you on your quest, or lead you into combat against mutated creatures, technological horrors and other desperate scavengers. You can also find other survivors who can be convinced to join your party, bringing their own set of unique abilities to aid your quest

The games minimalist style and unique gritty art style matches the Sci-Fi Post Apocalyptic Setting perfectly, along with the roguelike nature of the game, where each run presents its own unique challenges. Players who are fans of old school Choose Your Own Adventure Novels like the Lone Wolf Series will definitely enjoy Songs Of Rats. I recommend giving it a try.
