The Power of Presence
In this episode, Tom shares about his experience aboard the 2025 Cruise to the Edge, noting that the disconnect from the constant distractions of modern life had some dramatic and powerful effects. Specifically, Tom noticed his ability to be present and engaged with whatever was in front of him, whether a person or performance, increased substantially and resulted in more engagement, more enjoyment, and a richer life experience. Tom suggests that the same effect, while perhaps not so dramatically in our workaday experiences, is possible for all of us. It simply requires the attention and discipline to establish habits of our choosing, rather than those we find ourselves falling into. He offers some suggestions for viewers/listeners to try - to experiment for themselves.
