The Trump administration is freezing $2.2 billion in federal funding to Harvard for resisting demands to dismantle DEI programs, audit viewpoints, reform admissions, change leadership, ban protest masks, address anti-Semitism, and ensure taxpayer funds don’t support racial discrimination. These requirements apply to all federally funded universities. Harvard’s defiance is framed as selective free speech, with the media accused of sympathizing with the university. Trump also plans tariffs on pharmaceutical and chip imports to boost U.S. production, exempting phones and electronics, while giving companies time to relocate manufacturing. An executive order designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations shifts engagement rules, with courts unable to intervene in foreign policy. The “Maryland man,” an MS-13 gang member, will not return to the U.S. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg defends Meta in an antitrust lawsuit over Instagram and WhatsApp acquisitions.

US to freeze $2.2B for Harvard after it defies Trump. If you receive taxpayer money you have to dismantle DEI under the Trump administration. Federal officials said they would freeze the money after Harvard said it would not submit to requests to overhaul hiring and report international students who break rules. Harvard is pushing back on the Trump administration. It is all Freedom of Speech until you are praying outside an abortion clinic then you go to prison. The media is crying for Harvard.
The Trump administration demands Harvard: auditing viewpoints of students, faculty and staff, reform admissions process, ending DEI programs, change leadership governance, banning masks at campus protests, ending unchecked anti-Semitism and ensuring federal taxpayer dollars does not fund the support of racial discrimination or racially motivated violence.
These are the same demands for all the universities that receive federal funds.
Trump vows tariffs on pharma imports. Trump moves to put new tariffs on computer chips and drugs. We do not manufacture medicine in this country. What Trump is doing is balancing the time between being able to provide our own chips and medication versus importing it. He is very serious about pharmaceuticals and computer chips giving them time to move production to the US before the tariffs will be placed in full swing. Trump exempts phones, computers and other electronics from reciprocal tariffs. We have to reinvest and re-industrialize our county.
