No "Constitutional Basis" for Gov't Education, "Empower Us" Instead: DeSantis

The Founding Fathers never envisioned that the federal government would be involved in education, explained Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in a press conference at Pensacola State College on higher education.

In fact, there has "never been any constitutional basis" for the Department of Education and other methods of federal "meddling," the governor told The Liberty Sentinel's Andrew Muller.

He also praised President Trump's efforts to gut the Department of Education and explained how the quality of education plummeted academically and morally after federal intrusion. "Empower us," the governor concluded, proposing that Florida would improve education with more control.
