One of the points emphasized in St. Mark’s Gospel today is the importance of accepting God’s will, even in the face of suffering, as exemplified by Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. It highlights that God can bring great good out of evil, and our cooperation in this process, through our own sufferings, can be a powerful witness to others. Ultimately, this participation in the work of redemption is a privilege and an opportunity to contribute to the salvation of souls.
